How to use an alternative symbol for the symbols in the online library
How to use an alternative symbol in your schematic for the symbols from the online library.
In this example, we use a housing for a control valve with the setting PTBA.
By default, the housing for the control valve in the online library is drawn like this.

If you want to have this drawn in landscape orientation in your diagram without having to adjust it manually every time, you can do the following.

Go to the symbols in the online library.
Then go to Help Symbols -> DV help symbols -> PTBA and select

Now use your right mouse button and select import to local library.

Follow the instructions on the screen.
Use close at the final window.

Go to the Symbols tab in the local library and navigate to the folder where the symbol was imported.
Select the symbol and use the right mouse button to rename the file.

Remove the _Alternative part from the name.
The filename will then look like this.

Use OK, then Yes, and then Yes when refreshing the library.

The symbol above will now be used when inserting a directional valve with the PTBA setting and using a DV-Bottom_PABT housing.
If there is no alternative symbol available in the library, you can of course always draw a symbol yourself and save it locally under the same name as the one used in the online library, and that will work the same way.
